Description
Berries and Bricks was taken by local Maine photographer Mike Breau to capture the artistic beauty of the building that houses the Pennacook Art Center in Rumford Maine. The building, formerly owned by the local paper company now houses the local growth council, the career center and several other local businesses. The Pennacook Arts portion includes the interior hall walls that we are able to reach out to our community and the world through the displays of several local artists, including myself. The blue berries on the red and green vines are not of any edible variety that I am aware of; but do add immeasurable aesthetic appeal to a one time dreary old building. Latest information identifies the vine as a Virginia Creeper. Berries are poisonous to humans, but useful in certain medicines. It is eaten by birds and rodents and the vines are a habitat for small birds
