When taking this shot of the dandelions terrorizing the landscape in our yard in Peru, Maine, I was captivated by the effects my shadow had on the photography of the beautiful yellow springtime visitors. They became obviously clearer than those directly in the sun. It became a great lesson in photography. The big black crow I invited in to enhance my shadow and balance my composition. The green grass of course highlights the beauty of this exquisite flower, or weed if one wishes to call it such. Whatever you call it doesn�t really matter much. Many people, especially vegetarians, enjoy their stalks and I always appreciated them as an inspiring sign of spring with a bountiful and resilient new life. Copyright 2014 Michael D.
